About Alexis
I’m a Rochester, NY native, finding myself back where it all began after living around the country. Rochester, Syracuse, San Fransisco, CA, Corning, Lexington, KY… there’s no place like home. I’ve loved creating with my hands since I was small. My burgundy colored studio space keeps me cozy on the cloudiest days ROC has to offer.
How did you get into that?! My answer is jewelry making picked me. As a very young kid I remember being fascinated by other people’s jewelry. It must be in my blood since I had a great uncle who was a jeweler and a grandfather who was a watchmaker.
I first picked up a torch and piece of silver at age 15. I earned a BFA in metalsmithing from Syracuse University and Graduate Jeweler diploma from San Francisco’s notable Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts. Along the way I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented jewelers there are.
I create for the joy it brings me and equally for the joy it brings to the receiver.
During early days of motherhood I added painting to my creative practice, both for love of color and the sheer necessity of silence during nap time. Hammering and babies rarely mix. Look for the Paintings category in my shop.
Highlight of my career to date: Selling a pair of my Meeple Cufflinks to actor Rich Sommer, aka Harry Crane in “Mad Men” to wear to the 2012 Emmy Awards.
